The Ferdinand Historical Society is a group that has been dedicated to preserving the historical integrity of the town of Ferdinand for decades through records, photographs, memorabilia, etc. They were looking to update their look for the modern age, but wanted to keep that traditional personality to their identity. This project was completed in house at Dubois-Spencer Counties Publishing.
This concept was a part of a 3-concept project – each idea having its own unique identity while also providing a substantial option for the society to preview. Based off of the famous Kitten Steam Engine – a steam traction engine invented in Ferdinand by Florenz Kitten in 1940 – that is a staple symbol of the town of Ferdinand.
