Ferdinand Historical Society – Landmark Trio

The Ferdinand Historical Society is a group that has been dedicated to preserving the historical integrity of the town of Ferdinand for decades through records, photographs, memorabilia, etc. They were looking to update their look for the modern age, but wanted to keep that traditional personality to their identity. This project was completed in house at Dubois-Spencer Counties Publishing.

This concept was a part of a 3-concept project – each idea having its own unique identity while also providing a substantial option for the society to preview. This concept took inspiration from a trio of notable landmarks located throughout Ferdinand:

• St. Ferdinand Church – The Catholic Church built by the town's founder, Fr. Joseph Kundek, in 1845. Remodeled in the mid-2010s, this church is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the surrounding area.
• Monastery Immaculate Conception: Also known as "Castle on the Hill", this massive monastery was built over a period of time beginning in 1886 and reaching full completion in 1924, houses one of the largest communities of Benedictine nuns in the United States. Aside from housing the nuns and operating as a church for locals, this site is known very well for its architecture, stunning views, and being a venue for many events.
• Ferdinand St. Forest – a vast forest that serves as a campground, event venue, and natural tourism location, the forest boasts many hiking trails, and a beautifully photogenic lake that is perfect for canoeing and kayaking, fishing, and even photoshoots.
